Biography

My work as a piano technician began at age nineteen when I was offered an apprenticeship at The Immortal Piano Company in Portland, Oregon. They specialized in antique upright pianos. I developed a deep friendship with the owners that eventually led to full-time employment and mentor-ship at the shop. With in a few years I became a member of the Piano Technicians Guild and began regularly attend classes, chapter meetings and conventions.

After leaving Portland in 2005, I worked in a number of piano rebuilding shops in San Francisco, California. Specifically focused on rebuilding grand pianos. In addition to working in these shops, I started my career doing in-home private tunings and acquired contracts with colleges, recording studios and other public music facilities.

What I was learning enabled me to travel internationally. tuning and repairing pianos in Cuba, Mexico, Europe and Canada

After moving back home to Seattle I passed a series of three comprehensive exams covering all aspects of piano tuning and repair given by the Piano Technicians Guild. These Experiences combined with my own love of music, has lead me to work as a piano technician for over two decades and I am truly excited to have the opportunity to work on your piano.
